In 1998, Joe graduated from Oberlin College and decided to stick around and open a farm-to-table restaurant. After running the Black River Café for 18 years, he sold it. But like the Godfather, every time he tried to get out, they kept pulling him back in. In the summer of 2022, the Black River re-emerged as a wine shop/wine bar and culinary reading room.
We have a unique selection of classic and natural wines by the glass, bottles to go at state minimum prices, spirits, craft beers, craft sodas, Phoenix coffee, and a small selection of tea.
